Thank you Illinois Dems for banning new sales of assault weapons by passing the Protect Illinois Communities Act! Here’s the Tribune article. The right to firearms is like the right to drive, only available to law-abiding citizens and subject to reasonable rules and restrictions. And if you think it’s reasonable to allow the unrestricted sale of these mass killing machines, I have just two words for you: Highland Park. It happened there just a few months ago. Shut down the disguised voucher program: For the past few years Illinois has had a “voucher” program which takes public money — our hard-earned tax dollars — and gives it to private, sectarian schools — money that should have gone to support our public schools.
